Grain is a quiet place to do costly acts of love where no one sees, to carry what others are carrying, and to watch love spread across the world. It is run by BTD Technology Pty Ltd (ACN 670 507 276), a proprietary company registered in Victoria, Australia ("we", "us"). You can reach us at info@u92.ae.

The short version

• You never give your name. Others only ever see "someone near" the city you choose.
• Without an account, your garden stays on your own device.
• With an account, we keep your email address and your garden so it follows you to any device. That is all.
• No advertising, no tracking, no selling or sharing of your data.
• You can delete your account and everything kept with it at any time, in the app.

What stays on your device

Your garden (what you have written, the burdens you shared, what you chose to do, your settings and the nearest city you picked) is stored on your phone or in your browser. If you do not create an account, it never leaves your device except as described below.

What we keep if you create an account

• Your email address, used only to send you sign-in codes. It is never shown to anyone.
• Your garden, as described above, so it is there when you sign in on another device.
• A sign-in session, so you stay signed in. Signing out ends it on our side too.

What we process to make the app work

• The AI. When you ask Grain to imagine what may grow from an act, to suggest acts of love where you are, or to check a burden before others read it, that text is sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI model. We do not store these texts on our servers, and our logs record only that a request happened, never what it said.
• Sign-in emails are sent through Resend, which receives your email address and the code.
• Hosting is with Hetzner. Like any server, ours briefly sees your IP address; we use it only to limit how often the app can be used from one place, and our logs keep only a short one-way fingerprint of it, never the address itself.
• Reports. If you report something, we keep the reported text and reason so a person can review it, for up to 12 months.

These companies act on our behalf and may use your data only to provide their service to us.

What others can see

When real sharing is open, others may read a short line about what you did, a burden you chose to share, or what you gave up for someone, always without your name or email and with only the nearest city you chose. Everything shared is checked first so that it cannot carry names, contact details or requests for money. During the current testing period, the other people you see in Grain are simulated, and nothing you write is shown to anyone else.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your account data until you delete it. To delete it, open In secret → Keep your garden → Delete my account, or write to info@u92.ae from the email address you signed up with. Deletion is immediate and removes your email address, your saved garden and your sessions. See how to delete your account.

Security

Your connection to Grain is encrypted. Sign-in codes are stored only as one-way fingerprints and expire after ten minutes.

Age

Grain is for adults aged 18 and over.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to info@u92.ae. If we change this policy in any way that matters, we will update the date above and say so in the app.
